This week Tatyana from Ukraine started to work in SCI Archives as Long Term Volunteer (LTV). She is 22 years old and studies history and languages. In the last years she did severals workcamps and is involved in activities of SCI partner organisation 'Alternativa-V Ukraine'.

Memorial Day, 19. November 2007, Herzberg (Switzerland)
One year ago Idy Hegnauer, a long standing member of SCI died. In 1959 she was involved in relief help for refugee children of Algeria. With pictures and reports Idy tried successful to raise money in order establish an orphanage for refugee children in La Marsa (Tunisia). The following photos and texts are from Idy. They can be consulted in the SCI Archives in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

Recently I got a movie shot at the last International Committee Meeting (ICM) in Dhulikhel (Nepal) in December 2006. The DVD is quiet sophisticated, showing various impressions of the Meeting, parties and amusing interviews with participants. There the participants were asked funny questions like this one: "What colour of socks, did Ceresole wear".

In the letter of July 19 to Pierre Ceresole the Swiss minister of Defence, Ruedi Minger, requested guarantees, that any kind of antimilitaristic propaganda should be avoided. Failing that, the ministry would not supply any materials. Ceresole answered him him a day later. The correspondence was in German. Here it is summarized in English.
